THE KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN IS NOW LIVE!!! Visit the website and make your pledge in support of THE F1RST HERO!
PLEASE SHARE THIS EVENT!!! INVITES YOUR FRIENDS!!!
Jake Roth is back in an all-new four-issue mini-series filled with twists, turns and some of the craziest action you'll ever see. In THE F1RST HERO: WEDNESDAY'S CHILD, Jake must face his strangest opponent yet: an 8-year old girl with the power to control human minds. And as deadly as that sounds, it's the little girl's mother that's the really dangerous one! And in the meantime, Col. Kirkson and the Extrahuman Task Force are hot on all their heels!
Volume 3 is written by Anthony Ruttgaizer with art by Marco Renna and letters/colours by Fred C. Stresing. The F1rst Hero is published by Action Lab Entertainment.
Rewards for the campaign include copies of entire series (including Volumes 1 and 2) in both print and digital form, limited special editions of the first issue and chances to have Anthony draw you as an extrahuman villain!
Everyone who develops superpowers goes insane. The government has ruled these so-called EXTRAHUMANS a danger to society, stripping them of all human rights and forming a military unit, the U.S. EXTRAHUMAN TASK FORCE, to hunt them down. And then there's JAKE ROTH.
When Jake manifests extrahuman powers --but somehow keeps his sanity-- he must decide whether to put himself at risk by using his powers to save people or to hide his new abilities while innocent people he could have helped are hurt around him every day.
In Volume 3, WEDNESDAY'S CHILD, Jake faces a new kind of threat: an 8-YEAR OLD GIRL with the extrahuman power to control minds but she is not acting alone. She is taking orders from her cruel and greedy mother. This unlikely criminal pair start using the little girl's powers to force people into carrying out a shocking spree of larceny and revenge across Philadelphia. Jake, just back from his adventure in the ACTIONVERSE mini-series, must track down the duo, stop their assault on the city and, hopefully, save the young girl from her vicious, controlling mother.
THE F1RST HERO: WEDNESDAY'S CHILD continues a unique take on the superhero mythos, with this scary, violent and fast-paced tale by creator/writer ANTHONY RUTTGAIZER, new series artist MARCO RENNA and returning letterer/colourist FRED C. "Ruttgaizer continues to bring more character and intrigue to the story of Jake Roth. It is clear that Ruttgaizer is positioning Jake for some great destiny and that it is going to be coming soon."
- Frank Rodriguez, The Broken Infinite
"Marco’s interiors are sharp. I like his attention to detail here and the use of backgrounds. His eye for how a story needs to flow through pages and panels is good and will only keep getting better with each issue he does."
- Steven Leitman, Reading With A Flight Ring
"This is a truly unique take on meta humans – a world where people who manifest powers are driven insane. Anthony Ruttgaizer’s saga continues to impress, with amazing artwork by Marco Renna. 8/10"

THE F1RST HERO is a 100% creator-owned series and, like many creator-owned comic books, it is a labour of love. This Kickstarter campaign is being conducted to help raise funds for the production of the series. After Kickstarter's fess and the cost of reward fulfillment, all the money raised will go towards those costs. Marco, Fred and I have been working incredibly hard to bring you the truly best book that we can and every dollar that you pledge here will help us reach the finish line. With that in mind, we would like to THANK YOU in advance for your support.
Risks and challenges
The risks for backing this project are incredibly minimal. Marco has completed the art for all four issues of the story and Fred has already completed colouring and lettering for Issues 1 and 2. Fred is currently colouring Issues 3. Issue 1 was published on June 15th and Issue 2 has gone to the printers. The team at Action Lab have been great, once again, at helping us continue bringing the story of THE F1RST HERO to readers like you and the first wave of rewards will go in the mail almost immediately upon completion of the campaign. Trade paperback collections will be mailed out in late-October to complete the reward fulfillment cycle.
In the meantime, please use the SHARE TOOLS near the top of this page and help spread the word about THE F1RST HERO: FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE via Twitter, Facebook, e-mail, carrier pigeon, smoke signal, jungle drum, interpretive dance or whatever else is available to you. Even if you can't contribute, you can help make this project successful by telling your friends and neighbours about it.
