Penns being a pussy. Can't he just admit he got owned, drop the weight and try to be dominant in his own class. It'd be nice if he could show half the class GSP did. After all the shit talking George still made his way over to his opponent and put him over. Fact of the matted is even if GSP was COVERED in vasaline, there was no situation when it would have hindered Penn. As far as I know your opponent being covered in vasaline doesn't stop the pain of being punched in the head repeatedly. But as we all saw, when the vasaline was put on his back, it was instantly wiped off. Grow up Penn, you got your ass kicked:)

To build on Rory's point....
There was no time following this vaseline incident that Penn had GSP in any kind of a predicament that would have allowed for the vaseline to come into play.
GSP was 100% dominant - especially from that point in the fight. It's not like Penn was trying to shoot or grapple and GSP slid out..
I'm shocked BJ is being that much of a bitch.

Given the difference between what Penn made (as the loser of the fight) and what GSP made, I can see why Penn and his people would be protesting if they thought someone was cheating during the fight. It also helps to set-up a potential rematch between the 2.
I agree though that the ammount of vaseline that would have gone on GSP between rounds 1 and 2 most likely did not affect the outcome of the fight.

Maybe it's just the greasy frenchness of GSP that is oozing through his pores....lol
I all seriousness though.....Others have complained that GSP felt greasy to them and all of them have lost to him. I think they are all crying the blues and even come off a bit insensitive to GSP and his hyper-hydrosis affliction.

There was no time following this vaseline incident that Penn had GSP in any kind of a predicament that would have allowed for the vaseline to come into play. That is a very ignorant comment from someone who dosnt understand the sport. No kind of prediciment? Its called a triangle choke or gogoplata, and various forms of escape and control that can be had when holding someone in high guard. Something BJ is known to use effectively thanks to his flexibility. Do I think it would of changed the outcome of the fight? No not really. And the NSAC officials only wiped the Vaseline off (which WAS there) between round 2 and 3 and round 3 and 4. So round 2 (where GSP began to dominate) he had Vaseline on his back. I still think GSP was going to win, called for a 3rd round TKO, but I think this is something that should be monitored A LOT more closely. What they are claiming is that this guy (forgot his name) does a between round massage to keep GSP loose, which is fine. But the fact he is the Vaseline guy too and obviously dosnt wipe his hands makes it suspect.

I hate you bust your balls but a triangle choke and a gogoplata are two different holds. A triangle choke still has both legs BEHIND the head and a gogoplata has one leg under the chin in FRONT of the head. The gogoplata , in english, is called a shin choke.
I do agree that Penn has one the best rubber guards in the sport of BJJ and would probably have been able to contain someone normal with it but GSP is not a normal fighter any more. He has taken his fighting skills and added science and actually understands it to put him in a completely different league of fighter. I honestly think this is simply a case of one fighter being out muscled by a bigger and stronger fighter and now Penn is trying to lay blame on something else. Personally I think B.J. and his camp should just relax, go home, turn off the phone, take their shoes off, crawl in to bed, and then go fuck themselves.

I know they are two different holds, worded it badly. Brad Imes used the Gogoplata to win two fights a couple years back which was the first time I saw it. And from a 6'7" 265 pounder of all people. And as I said, without much detail, I still think BJ was losing. Said so in my prediction. But cheating cant be tolerated. And while there is no proof one-way-or-another if he was cheating, the fact it may be an issue is something that should be looked into.

I have no need to try and put over my knowledge of MMA -- but I think I'm a step above "someone who dosnt understand the sport".
And I have re-watched the fight ... the amount of contact the corner man makes with GSP's back shows incidental contact and focused on the shoulders and blades.
If BJ failed to find triangle position because GSP is tough to get in that position. Often times when getting into a similar position, BJ will grab his own ankle to lock in place. He had horrible position in that clip and just slid on down.
Whatever, fuck it.
He got owned.

To: The MMA Community From: Team GSP Re: Official Statement Regarding UFC 94 Victory: "The Last Word"
Georges St-Pierre's successful welterweight title defense at UFC 94 was the direct result of his disciplined preparation and skillful execution of a masterful gameplan. Any implication to the contrary would diminish the significance of what was perhaps the biggest fight in MMA history.
St-Pierre states: "I have never cheated in my life, and as my fans know, I am deeply committed to upholding the integrity of the sport. My entire camp and I have been completely open about what happened during my fight at UFC 94 - we have nothing to hide. One of my cornermen did use an energy technique to help with my breathing that involves rubbing my back. He's also done this in my previous fights. If there was any Vaseline left on his hand after he put it on my face, it was unintentional, and I do not believe it made the slightest difference in the outcome of the fight. Of course it's up to the UFC, but I would be happy to offer BJ a second rematch. I am confident the outcome will be the same."
Team GSP is currently enjoying our victory celebration and we will soon turn our attention and focus toward Georges' next competitor - Thiago Alves.
