Since there's been some back and forth on The Wrestler film, I thought this thread might be a good one too.
Saw Gran Torino tonight. What an amazing film! If this is Clint Eastwood's swan song, it'll be very fitting. I was blown away with this movie.
The script is great and Eastwood really holds his own with the slew of characters that surround him. Of course, the glimpse of Dirty Harry is always a great touch as well. The dialogue was perfect as well.
If I can compare this to anything, I would say that this film is to Eastwood, as the Hurt remake was for Johnny Cash.

Haven't seen it yet.... but everyone seems to feel that Rourke won't win an Oscar simply because he is up against Clint's curtain call

This is the next movie on my list to see after The Wrestler... all the trailers look good.

i watched 7 Pounds, Gran Torino, and the Wrestler in one weekend. I must say I really, really like Gran Torino. Without giving anything away I thought it was an outstanding movie, and everyone I've told to watch it agrees.
