From WWE.com:
In a joint meeting today with the RAW and SmackDown rosters in the United Kingdom, in Sheffield, Vince McMahon announced that within the next several weeks, a new drug testing policy will be implemented in which performance enhancing drugs, such as steroids, etc., recreational drugs, as well as abuse of prescription drugs will be banned.
In addition to the new drug testing procedure, there will also be an emphasis on cardiovascular examinations.
The specifics of the drug policy will be announced over the next several weeks. More details to follow. Check with WWE.com for the latest information.

It's about time. Hopefully Eddie's death will not be in vain and perhaps this will save the lives of others. NWA TNA needs to follow suit.

As great as this sounds and as mandatory as this should be, what would the WWE honestly do if it's WrestleMania weekend and they've booked Cena vs Triple H for the title and someone say like Triple H were to fail the tests?
As much as the WWE would like to be in the same league as Major League Baseball, they're not. Both the WWE and MLB are out there to make money but when you've got 30 teams and you've got to suspend a franchise player, it's easier to move forward and still make money.
If it's WrestleMania and your Main Eventer just failed the drug test and we was scheduled to go over for the title and you just spent months promoting the hell out of the Main Event, I honestly don't see Vince pulling the star from the show.
Like I said, I think it's great that the WWE has decided to do this but I honestly think that even with the testing, McMahon will play favourites, whether it be certain Superstars or certain PPVs.

You may be right but at least it's a step in the right direction.
Just watched the video of the meeting Vince held about the drug policy. It can be viewed at WWE.com
-Says it will be a "strict policy" and "very fair", "no special considerations for anyone"
-Performed by third party agency, Vince will be second to know after the performer directly from the drug testing agency
-Testing will be done to determine abuse of prescription drugs as well, "very easy to find out if abuse is happening"
-Random drug testing, unannounced
-"Can't be one of those, 'Yeah Vince but ...' , I'm not going to have anything to say about it"
-"Whatever reaction needs to be taken would be printed, and everyone knows what that is, no if's, and's or but's about it"

Great... I'm all for the random rec drug testing, but the anabolics are a part or wrestling as much as a good gimmick is. I dont condone their use for anyone other than pro athletes, mind you, but I still think things will get a little weak once half the boys start competing as cruiserweights...

Sadly, this is going to be Vince's drug test: (and deep down, alot of us know it ) Vince: "Hey, ________ !!! Are you on the gimmicks? NO? Good!" THIS IS A JOKE!!! AND NOT MEANT TO BE SERIOUS!!! (Before I get 90 more emails calling me an asshole )

And another thing... Hayden Avery should adopt a strict steroid testing policy himself... If he ever tests negative, this means he is threatening our vision with the sight of his ugly, skinny ass...he must then punch himself in the testicles....
