ROH: Reborn Again
Hartford 5/11
Est attendance 550
It was announced that Nigel could not compete due to a back injury (he was
there and looked to be in a lot of pain) BJ Whitmer came down and asked for
Nigel's spot in the tag title main event. Briscoes hit the ring and they
fought. This brought down Morishima who dropped both Briscoes with backdrop
drivers and accepted Whitmer as his partner for the main event.
Jimmy Rave beat Pelle Primeau with a heel hook. This match was way better
than I expected it to be b/c Primeau really has the scrappy underdog thing
down great.
Daizee Haze beat Nikki Roxx. A good match. If the WWE is serious about
bringing back women's wrestling than Roxx will be there soon. She is smoking
hot and more talented than most of the current roster (although the bar
isn't that high anymore).
Kevin Steen/El Generico beat Jason Blade/Eddie Edwards...a fun tag match.
Generico is a face and Steen is a heel and their interactions are amusing.
Claudio Castagnoli beat Bobby Fish...Claudio had a new short haircut. This
was Fish's first match with the company and he looked good. The crowd
chanted "Fish" whenever he threw a punch.
Bryan Danielson had an open contract to wrestle anyone. Adam Pearce and
Shane Hagadorn came out and Pearce volunteered Hagadorn for the match.
Dragon tapped Hagadorn quickly with a chicken wing type manuever using his
legs.
Pearce then attacked him and they had an impromptu match which Dragon won
quickly with a leg submission.
The No Remorse Corps then hit the ring (Roderick Strong, Davey Richards, and
Rocky Romero) Strong rehashed his old history with Danielson and offered him
a spot in the NRC. Danielson refused and instead took the open spot in the 6
man tag (created by Austin Aries/TNA situation) with NRC vs. Resilience
(Erick Stevens and Matt Cross) They had a pretty wild brawl with Richards
pinning Cross with some sort of head drop. Given the fact that they didn't
give Resilience a new leader, I'd guess Aries is coming back when his TNA
contract expires....
Tank Toland squashed Mitch Franklin. Toland had Bobby Dempsey with him.
Marufuji beat Matt Sydal. Decent match but the crowd killed this one with
their silence. They got into it towards the end. Marufuji pinned Sydal with
the Sliced Bread #2
Kenta pinned Delirious. This was a match that was equal parts fun and good.
Delirious was freaking out at Kenta's kicks. The crowd was again a little
silent for this match as I don't think anyone bought Delirious winning.
Briscoes beat Morishima/Whitmer with a Jay Driller/Shooting Star on Whitmer.
Solid match. Morishima did some cool monster spots on both Briscoes.
