International Wrestling Syndicate debuted in Philadelphia at the ECW Arena yesterday afternoon in a show that saw a disappointingly small crowd (hurt by the afternoon Philadelphia Phillies game), with several excellent matches in a show marred by a finish in the Green Phantom-Kurt Lauderdale match that channeled the spirit of WCW in its sheer stupidity and rip-off feel.
The crowd started quiet, which wasn't helped out by starting late, and then proceeding to air the IWS Bloodstream (online TV show) to introduce the matches (which also unfortunately promoted the original main event of Frankie The Mobster-PCO) on the CZWTron, adding another 30 minutes to the delay.
In the matches:
# Kid Kamikaze (with Vanessa Craven) defeated Dan Paysan (with D-Vyn, who either got nailed legit or did an over-sell job on her beatdown by Vanessa Craven) with the Shining Wizard. Craven stole the show with her Chyna-style physical domination.
# Excess defeated Tomassino
# Beef Wellington defeated Fred "La Merveille" Lauzon with E. Coli Tiger Driver through chairs in a sick-looking spot after a comedy match that had the crowd in stitches.
# 2.0 (Shane Matthews and Jagged) defeated Flying Hurricanes (Takao and Kenny The Bastard) by countout, but did not win the IWS Titles, since titles only change in IWS by pinfall or submission.
# In what came off as the rip-off of the day, IWS owner "Crazy F'n Manny" (think heel promoter version 66.0) channelled the spirit of WCW and Eric Bischoff and declared Kurt Lauderdale and Green Phantom to be a no contest; stopping the match out of nowhere because it was "too violent according to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission" (who had nothing whatever to do with it, by the way), then basically said to the cameras and live crowd that IWS fans would get a fight to a finish in Montreal. This would have come off as hilarious in retrospect after the events at the CZW show later that evening if people didn't feel so ripped off.
Post-match, greenboys Twiggy & Pornstar Juan came out and got destroyed by Phantom and Lauderdale.
# Damien defeated Viking in a stiff-fest after a top rope stomp. The match, while decent wasn't up to what IWS fans said had been the level of previous matches. This was likely owing to a concussion suffered during the match that took Damien out of his match at the CZW show later that evening.
# In the main event/4-Way Elimination Cage/IWS Heavyweight Title match, Sexxy Eddy wins the title from Frankie The Mobster, also defeating Arsenal, and Evil Ninja in an elimination-style cage match to become the new IWS Heavyweight Champion. Sick spots during the match included Franky The Mobster nailing Evil Ninja with a Credibility Statement off the top rope through a table. Evil Ninja was then eliminated after a Death Valley Driver off the top rope by Arsenal.
Franky The Mobster was eliminated after a top rope crossbody from Eddy, causing him to trip over Arsenal who was on his hands and knees who was then rolled up forthe pinfall.
In one of the sickest spots of the entire day and night, Arsenal gave Eddy a swinging neckbreaker off the top of the cage through a table. Sexxy Eddy won after nailing Arsenal Total Sexxxtacy for the pinfall and the win.

Sorry, but I'm not al that familiar with this organization...who are there 3 biggest stars and, more importantly, why were they not there?

The self entitled "one of the best indies in north america" drew under 150 without three of their biggest stars.the lowest drawing show of the whole CZW weekend.I guess backyarders don't rule T First off, IWS is not a backyard fed....For anyone to even still try and use that insult is fucking stupid, as their workers are used all over the indy scene for various promotions (ROH, CZW, JAPW, PWG, UWA and many others...)... Secondly, to compare this double header show to the last double header show (CZW / IWA Mid South) is less than fare... seeing as the first double header show took place during the ECW reunion weekend, and a lot of people were in from out of town for that... as well, the IWA Mid South show was loaded up with tons of ex-ECW workers and 'names' The fact that IWS only drew 150 people isn't that bad... they go exposure...they are the first and ONLY Canadian promotion to have put a show on at the Viking Hall... As well, as for the fact Steen, Generico, and PCO not being there... while they are 3 top guys, them not being there doesn't take away from the huge rosted that they brought down with them... Sexxxy Eddy, Frankie The Mobster, Beef Wellington, The Arsenal, Damian, and many others... Lastly, let me just also say, I'd like to see any other Canadian promotion draw even close to 150 people in Philly, using their own homegrown talent...and at a ticket price of $20 US being the cheapest seats...($35 US being the most expensive).....I don't think anyone would be able to pull that off... ***the reasons Steen and Generico weren't on the show was because they were booked in California's PWG... PCO was injured and had to miss the show.***

three of the few non-backyarders. kevin steen, el generico and pco. The entire IWS rosted is professionally trained, and none of them are backyarders...

No consistant venue, talent works other shows first, fan base down, first us show a complete failure. bad staff does not return fans e-mail, staff insults people with other opinions.2 months- there will be no generico, steen and pco = iws sucks. the stars which carry this backyard fed are getting to big for the company and than the iws will have to carry itself. "self entitled- we are the top 3 indy fed in NorthAmerica"-now is one of the worst and lowest attending first shows in us indy history.

"self entitled- we are the top 3 indy fed in NorthAmerica"-now is one of the worst and lowest attending first shows in us indy history. I've asked it before.. name any Ontario fed, or almost any indy fed out there which has been able to keep a solid venue... they have had a conistant home base for 2005 so far, and will be in the same venu for the rest of the year.... it's a great venue and looks like it will be their home for a while... Umm.. the fan base is not down... earlier this year they drew over 850 people to a show.. their last show did about 400 people.. this weekend's show will probably be about the same.. Again, how can the Philly show be looked at as a complete failure?... Tickets ranged from $20-35 American.. they drew about 150 people.. using only their talent.. no outside names (unlike the loaded IWA-Mid South show a month earlier)......I'd love to see ANY other Canadian promotion to debut at the ECW arena and draw that much with their own talent.. it's not going to happen.. Also.. promotions with ex-ECW talent are barely drawing the same in that very building (3PW anyone?)... to say the show was a failure is a completely rediculous statement.. A promotion is not based on 3 workers... Steen and Generico have both been given their blessing from IWS to do what they feel is best for themselves.....IWS has tons of talented workers, and many other workers who are getting ready to step up. Keep on attacking.. whatever... IWS is the most entertaining fed in Canada.. and one of the top indies going today...they have talented workers.. great production value.. and will only continue to grow in the future..

- Border City Wrestling, NSPW and UWA. (there's three)
Umm.. the fan base is not down... earlier this year they drew over 850 people to a show.. their last show did about 400 people.. this weekend's show will probably be about the same..
- You idiot you just proved that your attendence went down 50% between shows.
Again, how can the Philly show be looked at as a complete failure?... -3PW is in disaray. 150 fans don't men shit.
A promotion is not based on 3 workers... Steen and Generico have both been given their blessing from IWS to do what they feel is best for themselves.....IWS has tons of talented workers, and many other workers who are getting ready to step up
- IWS has no choice but to let them work else where. Look what happened when you tried to tell Steen he can't work for other montreal promoters. What other workers are over like them?
-You guys suck and soon can not ride the coattails of your talented workers.

I'm happy the IWS and UWA are becoming friends. Beefs been at the last 2 shows with Kid Kamikazee and Kevin Steen and the fans have been enjoying them. I'm just curious about what UWA star will be joining Chris Bishop this weekend at IWS. I hope one day PCP Manny can come down to a UWA so I can shake his hand.
Don't even bother with those people who bash feds. People say similar things about UWA claiming backyarders and crap. Guess they're just jealous that both IWS and UWA draw big crowds in their respective territories.

I'm sorry.. I thought I was speaking with somebody who had an actual clue about IWS.. if you did, you'd know why March's show had 850 people.. (it was their biggest show of the year....Un F'n Sanctioned)...As well, it was huge venue, and was right in the middle of downtown Montreal.... knowing that, and the fact that the regular venue (Le Break) is half the size of that venue , then you should know that 400 is a packed house..and pretty consistant from their older venues around the city.... And again, I ask you.. Name a single Canadian fed that could go to Philly and put on a show.. and draw the same amount of people, at the same ticket prices.. using homegrown talent.....Not one. Not BCW, not Neo.. nobody... Maybe 150 people doesn't mean shit to you.. but that number is a whole lot better than your average indy show gets around Ontario and Canada... I'm not going to argue with you anymore.. keep talking all you want..I don't care.. I don't work for IWS.. but I am a fan.. and I enjoy a good wrestling product.. and that is exactly what Montreal's IWS delivers.

lay off of the peace pipe.
listen youngblood, no other promotion has as close of a releastionship with CZW and has wrestled there as much. Also, smartmark distributes IWS-that exposure should draw more than 150. half the fans came from Canada, 1/4 came to see CZW and maybe 25 fans were there from the US just to see iws.
Border City Wrestling has Shelly, Sabin, Rhino, Rude, Young, Pete Williams and much more- they could easily draw over 150 in Philly.
I am visiting a bud in t.o but i live in london. I have bought know your enemies and the workers are great but the fed sucks! so get your mouth off of their *****
