TAG TEAM TABLES MATCH + WOMEN'S TIE-BREAKER MATCH Rival Schools: Sun July 19/15 TAG TEAM TABLES MATCH These two teams have a rich history together as The Goat Brigade made both their Smash TV and Smash Wrestling debuts against The Super Smash Brothers. Back then the upstart team won high praises for “hanging” with the best. In recent months they picked up two massive upset wins as well and there lies the problems with Shane Sabre and Kirk Warmack. It is no longer acceptable to “hang” with the best or for their wins to be considered “upsets”. Fast forward to DRIcore Kicks ALS on June 6 and in the most shocking moment of the night (that’s saying something) Sabre unmasked Player Uno. Come July 19 at Rival Schools, all the recent wins and losses will mean nothing as it comes down to one last fight. This rivalry will be settled the only way we know how to do so in Smash Wrestling’s tag team division…a tag team tables match. Both teams settled their respective scores with The Overdogs with the same stipulation, a fitting end to what is sure to be a war! WOMENS TIE-BREAKER Candice LeRae and Vanessa Kraven finally met one-on-one on Smash TV a few weeks ago. LeRae managed to convince Smash Wrestling management for a rematch after losing in their first encounter. With each competitor picking up a win a piece it seems only fitting that a tie-breaker is in order. It’s no secret to either woman that a win will give bragging rights for the winner’s respective country going into the 2015 Canusa Classic. LeRae was very honest about this and it will do her well with all the tension between her and Team USA. It all comes to full blows at Rival Schools on July 19, 2015! RIVAL SCHOOLS 2015 LINEUP I Quit Match (Smash vs. Fourth Gunn): Matt Cross vs. Tarik Hero's Challenge: Chris Hero vs. Rich Swann Championship Match (Smash vs. Fourth Gunn): Scotty O'Shea vs. Johnny Gargano (c) Tag Team Warfare (Smash vs. Fourth Gunn): The Overdogs vs. Drew Gulak & Biff Busick Tag Team Tables Match: Super Smash Brothers vs. The Goat Brigade Women's Rubber Match: Vanessa Kraven vs. Candice LeRae There is more "main event worthy" matches to come! RIVAL SCHOOLS RESULTS Post your feedback on Rival Schools here!!
Match #1: Brent Banks d. Kevin Bennett with a roll up pin It was a fast paced encounter that saw Bennett impress yet again despite coming up short. Post match Brent Banks challenged Facade at Super Showdown 3.
Match #2: Candice LeRae d. Vanessa Kraven by reversing a powerbomb attempt with a hurricanrana into a pin This match was the tie breaker between two of North America's best and further reinforced why are women's division and the Canusa Classic are must see! Johnny Gargano was ringside for part of the match and clearly an unappreciated distraction to LeRae. Post match Gargano superkicked LeRae
Match #3: Tyson Dux defeated Takaaki Watanabe via a Boston Crab submission It was a hard hitting contest that truly showcase the unique match ups featured at any Smash Wrestling. Despite the loss Watanabe yet again proved why he's held in high regards as the future of NJPW.
Match #4: The Overdogs d. Fourth Gunn's Drew Gulak and Biff Busick via a wrist lock submission by Suave on Busick's cast Busick stated prior to the match that he was medically cleared to wrestle but his cast was off limits for competition. Fourth Gunn used the cast to their advantage throughout the match only for it to end up as the cause of defeat as Suave put added pressure on Busick's thumb during the finishing submission. Did The Overdogs finally overcome Fourth Gunn or was this a tainted victory for the fan favorites?
Match #5: Super Smash Brothers d. The Goat Brigade in a Tag Team Tables Match The bad blood between these two teams provided the ultimate chaos in match that saw saw jaw dropping ways to put someone through a table. In the end, Player Dos was the lone survivor as he put Warmack through a table off the top ropes.
Match #6: Matt Cross d. Tarik in a I Quit Match All the history and brutality between these two can finally be put to a rest as Matt Cross got the ultimate revenge. However, it's all bigger than just Cross vs. Tarik now. The war between Smash Wrestling and Fourth Gunn seems far from over.
Match #7: Chris Hero d. Rich Swann with a rolling elbow Many are calling it the Match of The Year at Smash Wrestling thus far. That's a strong statement to make but surely a fair one!
Match #8: Johnny Gargano d. Scott O'Shea via pinfall to retain the Smash Wrestling Championship in controversial fashion. It was a competitive contest that saw Fourth Gunn banned from ringside early on. In a shocking turn of events Fourth Gunn came back out after the referee was knocked out. A mystery assailant was the difference maker as he assisted Gargano in landing the pinfall. Who was this man? All we know is that he was wearing the same mask that Tarik wore when he first returned to Smash Wrestling.
