hello,
New guy here to the forum. I would like to ask a couple of questions to get the pot rollin with conversations. What do you guys think of Outrageous Wrestling Federation? Why do you think they have been gone from the secen for some time now? Would you guys like to see Outrageous Wrestling Federation back, why or why not? Is there any bad blood between the workers and this company?
I've heard some rumors that the promoter is a mark and that when he tried to get a show off the ground in August, it was a flop. Many people say he is not a promoter at all just some young punk with a hobbie, what you guys think about this?
Peace Guys and Girls Killjoy

There was a Outrageous Wrestling Federation?? Didn't even know about it. SO I can't honestly say that I miss them and want them back. As far as the workers go... are these workers regukar workers in Ont or are they guys that only work of OWF? Chances are if they only work for OWF that they are backyard wrestlers in a backyard fed that is trying to look legit. If that is the case then I say that I wouldnt be wanting them to start. However, if the promoter is legit and using workers with good reputations then I would encourage him to run shows again. ALways good for the boys to get work GG www.freewebs.com/gentlemangeoff

Geoff,
This was a 16 year old kid and his buddies who tried to pitch themselves as 'guys who have real wrestlers e-mail addresses', then go on to try not once, but 3 or 4 times to put together events that never occurred.
My favorite was the card that had all these major names appearing on it - then all of a sudden it was 'The Stro' and about 25 Ontario guys - most of whom had worked this guy into MASSIVE payouts and the guy eating up every pile of shit that anyone told him.
It was funny.....but definitely forgettable.
Best if they just kept watching RAW and reading dirt sheets.
P.S. Geoff...see ya on Saturday night....looking forward to a great show!

So basically you are saying that this fed tried to run 4 times and never got their opening show off the ground? And of course they promised all these names and did not get any booked too... buthey, if they got one show oiff with the Stro and other Ont guys then all that would be ok as something actually happened. You know what.. I think I remember the webpage now for that fed.. kinda red and white.. yea I always remmeber the show being prmised but it never happened. Soin answer to the original post, no I don't think anyone cares if the Outrageous Wrestling Federation returns or not as it was never here. I want it back as much as any fed that doesn't exist. Run a show.. then ask me. Cool, so you'll be at the show next week eh.. should be great if anything like the last one. See you there... well not unless you tell me who u are as I have no clue.. lol Geoff www.freewebs.com/gentlemangeoff

Hey Geoff,
It's Drury. I don't usually post on these boards but there are some topics that do bring me out of the woodwork.
Not sure what you meant in your post, but it is NOT okay that these guys be given the chance to run a show. The fact that kids, and marks, and guys named Doug Felton are allowed to run supposedly PROFESSIONAL wrestling shows is doing nothing but hurting an already damaged industry.
I have not spoken out on these issues on here before, but this one in particular really irks me that even the so-called 'workers' would say YES to a bunch of 16 year olds running a show. Do you really need $20.00 that bad?
Then again, this is probably all going to be considered , IRRELEVANT!
See ya this coming Saturday night!

naw.. I was just meaning it would be good from a fans point of view if a show was done and completed with these guys they promised. If they could pull off a good show. Big if. However, we cant just assume someone can't pull it off because of their age. But I guess in these guys case (and Felton's etc) they proved that the just screw up. Mind you I don't know much about Felton.. just what I read in here...
One thing though.. it is kind of a benefit of having the OAC. If there was no OAC then any 16 year old could get a bunch of his buddies and have a card in the basement of the restaurant he washes dishes in and call it professional wrestling. Just think of how damaging the industry would be if that were to happen.
Oh yea, it did happen.. it's called Quebec. lol

Listen Drury, who do you think you are talking shit about a fed you dont even know of? I dont think ring wars is that hot either, and what was that other feds name that you had?...you shouldnt talk about things that you have no freaking idea about....i was at a ring wars show and walked out, it was pitiful excuse for a wrestling show! no seats no guard rails and better yet in some run down bar/night club. when you are up to BCW standards then you can talk but until then shut your mouth! This industry isnt the easiest to break into, its hard to get all the essentails, especialy with the oac and what not, so dont jump in any new comer, because with your luck they'll jump on you and ring wars will join your other forgotten fed!
Peace Jenny

Wow. So much to say, so little time.
Drury: "The fact that kids, and marks, and guys named Doug Felton are allowed to run supposedly PROFESSIONAL wrestling shows is doing nothing but hurting an already damaged industry."
I don't know Felton, so what I say doesn't concern him. Drury is right. I get sooooo many emails from marks that claim that they are going to start a fed in upcoming months, and after awhile I realize that they are in fact just KIDS. The major problem that this entails is that people go out to see these "professional" wrestling shows and think that THIS is what indy workers do. No, this is NOT what indy workers do. REAL indy workers have enough respect for the business that they have the common courtesy to get trained and not hurt whoever they may be in the ring with.
Geoff: "One thing though.. it is kind of a benefit of having the OAC. If there was no OAC then any 16 year old could get a bunch of his buddies and have a card in the basement of the restaurant he washes dishes in and call it professional wrestling. Anyone over 18 can get a wrestling license. Trained or not trained. That's why the OAC sucks and is just a way to make money without doing work. If you go down to the US, you see respectable Athletic Commissions that actually make sure shows are legit and safe. These REAL commissions do however make it hard for promoters to run shows (because of the cost) but it also weeds-out those that are just marks and not serious about running a respectable business. Geoff, you say, "If there was no OAC then any 16 year old could get a bunch of his buddies and have a card in the basement of the restaurant he washes dishes in and call it professional wrestling." Well my friend, the sad thing is, this happens all the time. The idiots just so happen to be 18 instead of 16.
The dilemma underlies some of the major problems in Ontario indy wrestling. "Kids" that think they are wrestlers hurt the business. Untrained, licensed "wrestlers" hurts the business. Lack of respect hurts the business.

I dunno whether to agree with you or not kid, cuz quite honestly for someone so young you actually made sense and touched on a lot of key controversial points about having the OAC around.....Quite I ain't for them nor in any way defending the OAC, but without them this business would probably have been banned or even outlawed due to the violence content in this province....So really I can't say YES I am against them or NO I am all for them for that meer fact of balance.....
Quite Honestly I have never heard of this Fed. but anything probably be better than that hick fed. Garbage Mouth oh sorry Angery Guy brought from vast knowledge(not)....lmao.......
