Macdonald is.... That man always puts on a exciting fight. The one with Maia was one of the best submission battles I've seen in awhile. I won't even comment about Loiseau.

From Jason McDonald's blog on Sportsnet.ca:
I got my walking papers from the UFC.
I received an e-mail Saturday from the UFC, from their legal department, saying "my services were no longer needed" and "my contract has been terminated."
It was one of those form letters and at the bottom it said "this is in large part due to your loss in the UFC."
I’m obviously very disappointed. But I’m not at all angry with the UFC. I’m well aware of the fact that I’m paid to perform. And the reality is three of the past four fights, I’ve lost.
I spoke with UFC match-maker Joe Silva and we are still on good terms. He said to go out there and put together some wins and they’d like me to be back. I’ve always had a positive relationship with the UFC, and even Joe said I was always a pleasure to deal with.
But this is a business decision.
The UFC has been great to me and they’ve been great to deal with, so there are no hard feelings at all. I understand it’s just the nature of the sport. Especially nowadays, with so many fighters, it’s more important than ever to win fights.

As much as it sucks that they got released, I agree with UFC on the releases. If they get a couple of wins on "the MMA indies", I couldn't see why they wouldn't bring back any of these guys, even on another "comeback"-type Ultimate Fighter.
It's just a shame that we still can't get live MMA in Ontario, those are 2 top-tier fighters in Canada without a UFC contract who are no doubt going to try to get back to their winning ways on smaller shows, and we won't get to see it live without travelling.
Loiseau... yeah... why is it that he looks solid on all his Montreal cards, yet so... blah... in most of his UFC fights?

I liked David Loiseau. He could go and seemed to be getting ready to really make a name with an 18-4 record until he fought Rich Franklin and just didn't seem the same since.

Sure. But really, he's just another guy... way better fighters out there without UFC contracts than "The Athlete"
