This will get overturned.
Look, I don't like OJ - and like everyone else i believe he was guilty of double murder -- but he was found innocent.
It is illegal and unconstitutional to extend a sentence based on past crimes that have already been thrown out.
It's funny and all - but 17-24 yrs for this sort of crime is insane. It's way beyond the norm. I have a feeling he'll end up only doing a couple after an appeal and proof of preconceived prejudice.

He was sentenced for all 10 convictions he is looking at serving a min of 15 years.
There were concurrent and consecutive sentences.

Yeah he wasn't just charged with one offence. The judge said that it had nothing to do with the double murder and this judge is known to be a bit of a hard ass.

Naw, quite simply.... the judgment is a farce. No way, for the crime that was committed, should anyone receive that sort of sentence. It will get overturned.
'Double jeopardy' people.... the fact the Goldman family was 'overjoyed' seems a bit much to me. No matter your feelings on the guy, this was beyond excessive.

Yeah you are right, Armed robbery, kidnapping with a deadly weapon, forcible confinement and all the other crimes committed in this one act should get no more than probation and community service, at least in Canada anyway......

Double jeopardy does not apply. He was not tried again for the Goldman/Brown-Simpson murder. The way the judge set out the sentencing and for the crimes it makes sense. As I said this judge is known for being a hard ass and a heavy sentencer with from what I read not a lot of appeals overturning her sentencing. I also don't know if Simpson has the money to fight a long appeal process.
I think the Goldman family has every right to be overjoyed. The person they beleive to have killed their son is finally going to jail. Ok not for the murder they beleive he committed but he is still going to jail.

Wesley Willis proved it along time ago.
It's too bad Wesley passed away. I think he would be a great addition to a Stranglehold show.
