Blood, Sweat and Beers… and Blood
You can’t escape Hell by cheating the Devil, but that is exactly what Beef Wellington tried to do at Un F’N Sanctioned 2008, winning Fans Bring the Weapons with the most unlikely weapon of all, a damp cloth and a bottle of ether that sent Viking to sleep (and frankly ever since Viking has been acting drunk, well punch-drunk, well more than usual), giving Beef Wellington the easy pin and win. To Beef Wellington, this was using his brains to win the match; to PCP Crazy F’N Manny this was cheating in a match that Manny never even conceived that cheating was possible.
Normally, Fans Bring the Weapons ends feuds, not to mention careers, but with the feud between Manny and Beef unresolved, the two men have been ordered to face one another one on one at Blood, Sweat and Beers 2008, November 1st, in a match that may possibly be even more violent than Fans Bring the Weapons. The joke around the office is that Beef was campaigning for a Westmount Barbed Wire Match (there being no barbed wire in Westmount) but instead Beef will find that there is no easy escape from Hell as he faces Manny in a Triple Hell Death Math with barbed wire, thumbtacks and glass.

IWS Blood, Sweat and Beers 2008
Detailed Preview
What better way to mark our return to the Skratch than to welcome back someone to the IWS roster who hasn’t been seen since our days at the Skratch? Making his return to the IWS this Saturday will be former IWS Champion Maxx Fury. Known in Quebec wrestling circles as a man with legitimate martial arts skills, Maxx will have a real challenge in his fist match back facing the first IWS Canadian Champion, the Aerial Assassin Chris Bishop and his sometime partner, sometime friend, always rival, Lionel Knight.
Un F’N Sanctioned 2008 was host to an AMAZING ladder match where Cheech and Cloudy successfully defended their IWS tag team titles. No knock on our tag team champions, but the other two teams in the match made their lives a little bit easier by absolutely killing each other. The Super Smash Brother blame the ersatz Italians for losing the IWS tag team belts, while the Untouchables blame the eight-bit luchadores for never having won the belts. This Saturday, these two will have a chance to work out their differences and their frustrations once and for all.
Also nursing a grudge from the show at the Medley (and a few extra scars) is the IWS’ Hardcore Hero, the Green Phantom. He will take on the two men that he fought in Fans Bring the Weapons: Sexxxy Eddy and the Evil Ninja in a Handicap Match. Phantom picks at grudges the way that some people pick at scabs never allowing them to heal. He has a long and vicious history with both Eddy and the Evil Ninja, but these ancient rivalries have been given fuel by two ambushes that he has suffered while trying to beat Kevin Steen for the IWS Title. Ask Green Phantom if he believes he should be IWS Champion right now; ask him who he blames; find out what he plans to do about it this Saturday.

Shayne Hawke came within inches of becoming the latest IWS Canadian Champion at the Medley in his match against EXesS. The Baby Oil Phenom was out on his feet, but we have often joked backstage that EXesS could slap on a submission in his sleep and Shayne Hawke found out to his cost that a half-conscious EXesS operating on auto-pilot is still quite dangerous. Hawke won his very first match with EXesS, but ended up looking like he had lost after EXesS beat him to within an inch of his life. In their second match, EXesS won, but hawke looked like the winner. Hawke wants a rubber match, but before he can face EXesS he must take on IWS newcomer Brodie Lee.

While Shayne Hawke is tangling with Brodie Lee, EXesS, the very first IWS Triple Crown winner, will be putting his hard-earned gold on the line against anyone who wants to take a shot at him… anyone but Shayne Hawke that is.
After beating the Maritimes Express, 2.0 plan to celebrate by returning to the Promised Land. The only thing standing in their way are the current and reigning IWS Tag Team champions, Cheech and Cloudy who just demonstrated their Montreal dominance last Sunday in a great match at ISW’s Rotchy Horror Picture Show against the dangerous if dysfunctional McGoths.
At the Medley, Twiggy injured his neck and miraculously beat the heavyweight Franky the Mobster. Twiggy convinced the IWS Champion Kevin Steen that beating Franky earned Twiggy a shot at Mr. Wrestling’s IWS gold. It was almost exactly a year ago, that Twiggy came within a split-second of winning the IWS Title from then champion PCP Crazy F’N Manny. Losing that match gave Twiggy the motivation to win the IWS Tag Team Titles. Now, a year later, Twiggy puts everything on the line, his passion; his dreams; his health to take the IWS belt. In the other corner, Kevin Steen, no matter how much he likes Twiggy, will hurt anyone that he has to to defend his belt, even Twiggy, especially Twiggy, because Steen knows that Twiggy values the IWS belt more than his own body.
