The thing is that ECW/WWE will be taking all the top talent for the new ECW product. So watch for them to start taking top indy guys from ROH, JAPW and the others. It won't just be the ECW alumni.I think if they give Paul E control as is reported it will do well.

Bubba made a good point the other impact. Guys like the Dudlesy, Rhino, Jerry Lynn -they are TNA. So the real question is - is ECW coming back going to b featuring many of the old guys (which it will) and will that be in order to help push younger talent. Also, Vince giving booking powers to Heyman and Dreamer...seems fishy. Could this just be his way of killing ECW's legend. I do not think as many independent crowds will be cheering it after this. The cult will die.

Guys like the Dudleyz suck. Lynn is next-to-retired. And Rhino's contract is up in June. ECW is on SciFi network in the states now though, any word on Canada?
I wouldnt be suprised to see TSN do a three-hour Wrestling hour on Tuesdays since RAW is going to be bumped for football anyway, and by giving fans ECW as a way to apease us for not seeing RAW live. Or the Score is always looking for ratings so I could see them grabbing it.

Technically most all of the ex-ECW talent that would be used to sell the product suck. If you saw Jerry Lynn at a few of the recent UWA shows, you'd take back your "next to retired" statement. He's far from it.

Personally, I don't want to see the ECW of 10 years ago. Signing what former ECW talent they can to bring back the old ECW fans and creating new stars with guys that aren't necessarily getting over in the WWE or bringing up guys from the Developmental Territories that are ready for the main roster but there is no room for them will give it a "new and old" feel at the same time.
It's 2006 and if Heyman and Dreamer are legitimately running the Brand with the WWE bank account and they're not trying to run 20,000 seat arenas then I think it's going to be successful. The SCI FI channel won't screw over McMahon and if it were to happen, we wouldn't see McMahon take the ECW air time to get up in the face of the cameraman to bitch about the network. It'd be funnier than hell but it will never happen.
Everyone has always said that Heyman is a creative genius... just don't give him your cheque book. I'm looking forward to the new ECW and the new stars they create but honest to god, if they attempt to sign guys like Rhino & Team 3D again then it'll fail because nobody wants to see the same stuff they saw 10 years ago unless it's on DVD.

This is shaping up to be horrible for everyone involved, Seriously, The wwe fans are mixed in booing ecw whenever its brought up, So what do you think is going to happen when ecw is taped infront of a wwe crowd? Not to mention that it makes me sick , that heyman is going to steal top indy talent.

Not to mention that it makes me sick , that heyman is going to steal top indy talent. If it's taped prior to WWE RAW or SD!, it will be horrible. They can't put ECW out there in a 20,000 seat arena or even a 10,000 seat arena for that matter. As far as Heyman stealing Indy talent... ECW is the PRO scene. Going to work for ECW should be an honour for anyone working on the Indy scene because they've made it to the PRO scene. They'll have a contract.. they'll have the opportunity to be on TV 52 weeks a year... they'll have the opportunity to wrestle on PPV. And why blame Heyman? It's Vince's cheque book. Saying that "heyman is going to steal top indy talent" is just plain funny when you look at the WCW roster of the 90's, the WWF roster of the 90's, the current OVW & DSW rosters or even the current TNA Wrestling roster.

They make him look so old at TNA but really he can get the job done just like anyone else.
