Results from the fine folks at SLAM! Wrestling:
Following are the results from last night's Destiny World Wrestling show in Mississauga, Ontario, courtesy Bob Kapur: The show was centered around a tournament to crown the first Destiny World Champion. The winners of six singles matches would go on to compete in a 6-way elimination match for the title.
1) Will White beat Phil Atlas
2) Randy Reign defeated Tyler Tirva. After the match, Tirva mouthed off to "Highlander" Robbie McAllister, who was seated in the audience. When Tirva made suggestive comments to Robbie's girlfriend, the former WWE star charged the ring. Security stopped him from attacking Tirva who sneaked away in the commotion. 3) Tyson Dux beat Josh Alexander. Alexander, who is retiring on July 12, received a standing ovation for his efforts. Technical match of the night.
4) RJ City (w/ Cody Deaner) cheated to beat Donovan Danhausen
5) PJ Black (formerly WWE's Justin Gabriel) beat Ethan Page
6) Joe Coleman beat Cody Deaner
7) In a non-tournament Divas match, Taeler Hendrix beat Ashley America
8) PJ Black won the elimination contest to become the new Destiny World champion. This match was interrupted after the scary moment when Joe Coleman was legitimately injured and knocked out. Paramedics were called and stretchered him out - fortunately, he would ultimately be fine. After a brief intermission and some words from Santino Marella and Scott D'Amore, who were attending as guests, the match resumed without Coleman and Will White who rode with him to the hospital. The end came when special enforcer referee, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, prevented Deaner from assisting his buddy RJ, and threw him out of the ring. With the odds evened, Black hit RJ with a double foot thrust in the corner and followed that up with a 450-splash to get the pin.
Other notable events / appearances: Ron Hutchinson was presented with the first ever Destiny Legends Award, for his contributions to the independent and professional wrestling industry. Also in attendance were "The People's Uncle" Ricky Johnson and "No Class" Bobby Bass.
Promoter George Theiceman announced two major shows coming up:
i) On August 30, the Dudley Boyz will make their Destiny debut. That show will be preceded by an afternoon fan fest.
ii) On October 2, PJ Black will defend his title against WWE legend Rey Misterio Jr. For more informaiton and tickets, visit facebook.com/destinywrestlingshow
