Results Courtesy of Bob Kapur of SLAM!Wrestling: Results from Sunday's Deathproof Wrestling show in Etobicoke, Ontario, courtesy "Bloodthirsty" Bob Kapur: - The Rockpile West club was full for the show, with a typically raucous crowd. Say what you will about Deathproof, but the company has a strong following of diehard fans that attend every show. The shows are more like a party of friends with wrestling going on as opposed to a traditional wrestling show. But always fun. - The show was centred around the two battling factions: Deathproof favourites Sigma Tau Delta (STD) and the old-school, anti-hardcore faction the Salvation, led by their manager Adam Haze. At earlier shows, Haze cheated his way to own 50% of the company, along with co-owner, ECW Original Steve Corino, who has sided with STD. - 1. In a gauntlet match, Salvation member Justin Sane beat Super Somebody, Sledgehammer Pete, and the Hardcore Hick. - 2. Kurt Warmack and Shane Sabre were supposed to wrestle Sycho Mike Rollins and his blow-up doll Molly but Rollins wasn't able to make it. They were going to beat her up, but Josh Alexander and Ethan Page made the save. They teamed up with Molly to beat Sabre and Warmack. If Deathproof tradition holds, Sabre and Warmack will have to face each other at the next show. - 3. STD's Aiden Rayne threw a chair into the face of Salvation member Rage's face and then hit a facebuster on the chair to get the win and capture the Youngblood Championship in a three-way match that also featured Volkano. - 4. The Overdogs (Sebastian Suave and John Greed) vs STD (Warhed and PD Flex) ended in a draw when Sabre and Warmack ran in to attack STD. They were dispatched by STD and the Overdogs who then had a karaoke singoff to settle the match. Everybody won. - 5. In the night's bloodiest affair, a brawl that spilled into the crowd and all around the building, the Green Phantom beat Jesse F'n Amato. Even Amato's valet, Jewells Malone, wasn't spared from the big man's ferocious temper, receiving some devastating chops that riled up the crowd so much that someone actually attacked the Phantom. Barbed wire boards, thumbtacks, and a barbed wire bat were only some of the toys used in this one. Lots of fun. - 6. Salvation's EZE retained the Deathproof Championship through sketchy means over Steve Corino in a traditional-rules wrestling match. Haze and EZE used the old Eddie Guerrero chair fake-out to convince the ref that Corino had cheated, so he got disqualified. After the match, Salvation and STD squared off again. STD cleared the ring leaving Corino and Haze in the middle of the ring. Corino demanded Haze apologize to the fans for the screwjob ending, and when Haze didn't, Corino ran him face-first through a propped up table. Corino and Sigma Delta Tau celebrated in the ring to end the show. - Deathproof's next show is March 1st at the Rockpile West in Etobicoke, and is being billed as a Fans Book the Card show. slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/news.html
