I hate that Dana made Brock apologize. www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=102290408210&h=eaek1&u=Ee6SK&ref=nfLet him be the heel. Fans will NEVER respect Brock. Still today, MMA fans are bitching that Brock did nothing but lay on Mir and pound him. To hold down a jiu jitsu black belt and to make a guy who loves fighting from his back look helpless is amazing

I think it was the best Brock has looked......................I think in round 1 when he ended up holding Mirs head and just smashing him was a fluke..............but it worked. And I think round two he realized I could lose standing up, I could lose on the ground............what do I do ? So he did what worked well in round 1. I think he is still green, but none the less he is good. I thought Mir looked outstanding in his last fight, so for Brock to smash him like that says lots. I still wanna re-watch the fight

Mir went into his last fight against a Big Nog who had JUST recovered from a staph infection... meaning he looked good against an opponent who wasn't at 100%. His boxing is still terrible, he was just able to hit a guy who couldn't move as fast as he wanted to.
This is what bugs me about people who actually thought Mir had a chance last night. Mir looked to be in the best shape I've ever seen him look, but he was still going in against a guy who probably outweighed him by 35 pounds; not to mention his opponent had a power and reach advantage. Brock's technique has improved a lot since the first fight too, he looked a lot more disciplined and patient. I still think someone like Fedor could demolish Lesnar standing up, cause there are clearly some weaknesses to exploit there... but I don't know of any current UFC heavyweight who could beat Lesnar.

I think that Brock is a monster and you are going to see him on top for a long time. Wheather Mir was %100 or not i don't think he was going to beat Brock. Brock is too big, too fast and too strong for Mir to deal with. As of right now i think noone can deal with what brock brings to the table. Is is technique at it's best, obvious answer No. Brock is still improving though Mir caught him in their first fight becuase Lesnar still had alot to learn and thought is power was enough. Brock is smarter now yes he may be 4-1 but he already redeemed is 1 loss and is the heavyweight champ. I think that with more time he will for sure be unstoppable right now the only thing that is going to beat Brock is his own mistakes.

Shane Carwin is the guy I think that can deal with anything Brock has to offer. He is a former NCAA divII hwt nationa champion so he can do anything Brock can do wrestling wise. He is a very good boxer with his last 4 fights being TKO or KO stoppages in the first round. In fact none of his fights have went past the first round. The last KO win was against Gabriel Gonzaga who at the time was probably the 5th rated hwy in the UFC. He also is 260 lbs so Brock won't have a size advantage. Carwin is the 9th ranked Hwt and the winner of Him and Valasquez at UFC 104 should be lines up to face teh champ.
The only downfall that Carwin may have is he also has a full time job and does not train full time. It certainly hasn't hurt him so far with an 11-0 record with 6TKO/KO's and 5 submissions, but it may be a detriment.

I'm sure I am way out in left field with this one, But with every win in the UFC does Brock legitimize pro wrestlers just a little bit more? and if so, how does this make Vince and the WWE look when they are trying to put their wrestlers over as entertainers and not athletes?

Not to be petty ... but having spent a LOT OF TIME in the NCAA on the basketball side as developmental / AAU coach / and at seminars / clinics ... I must point out something painfully obvious ...
a DII athlete is NOT the same as a D1.
Yes, Carwin may have chosen DII for other reasons: proximity, education offered, etc ... but the best of the best go D1. Period.
The only guy Carwin has beaten of note is Gonzaga, and right now, Gonzaga is on the bubble just to keep his job ... all he's ever done is play 123 Kid for a night and pick up a big upset.
I'm not sure Carwin beats Velasquez at UFC 104

I guess the painfully obvious point I was trying to make is that he can wrestle. DII doesn't make you all that bad. He chose Western State becasue of the scholarship they gave him but also because they let him play football and wrestle. And in regards to D1 is where the best of the best go. He was a top1998 NFL draft prospect till he hurt his back. So D2 can't be that bad.
Carwin is being talked about as a legitimate threat in the heavyweight division and is certainly not a 123 Kid by any means. When your 255 lbs and 6'4 and have not gone past 2:11 of the first round your way more than a fluke.
104 will be a good fight I just think Carwin will take it.
