"SANTO SANGRE" A Dark Night of Lucha Libre Saturday, August 28th 2010 M2 Gallery at Burroughs (639 Queen St West) Bell-Time - 8:00pm Advance Tickets: $20 At the Door: $25El Hijo del SantoEl Hijo del Santo was the only one of his father's 10 children to become a professional wrestler. He began wrestling without his father's consent in February 1982 as "El Korak" but he made his official debut as "El Hijo del Santo" in October of that year after he earned his college degree in Communication Science per his father's request. He shares his father's look, the silver mask, tights, cape, and moves. He was featured in tons of memorable wars all over Mexico against the likes of Los Gringo's Locos(Eddie Guerrero & Art Barr), Negro Casas, El Dandy, Hector Guerrero, Felino, Blue Demon Jr. ....etc. El Hijo del Santo also managed to win multiple Championships in AAA, CMLL, UWA, WWA & currently holds the World Boxing Council's "Wrestling" Championship. Don't miss out on El Hijo del Santo's Canadian debut when he invades Toronto on August 28th!! "Santo Sangre" is proud to feature some of Canada's premier luchadores. Super Xtremo, the original El Vigote & SOMBRA are the first batch of luchadores who are currently confirmed for the event. Super Xtremo is the former BSE Pro Suicide Six Pack & Tag Team Champion, Xtremo's alter-identity. In honor to his respect to the lucha libre culture, Xtremo dawns his mask to compete in Lucha Libre bouts. In the past, Super Xtremo has competed in CHIKARA Pro's annual "King of Trio's Tournament" & "Young Lions Cup Tournament" and has teamed alongside Mexican legend, Blue Demon Jr. & Incognito. El Vigote made his debut at Lucha VaVoom in Toronto, teaming up with Kobra Kai & El Fuego. After competing for various promotions across Quebec and Ontario, El Vigote passed on his persona to El Vigote Dos who competed for a shortwhile in BSE Pro. The original El Vigote looks to make an impact in his return to professional wrestling. SOMBRA made his professional wrestling debut in 2003, competing all over Ontario, Quebec & Northern USA. It was a surreal experience to see El Hijo Del Santo live in front of a really intimate crowd. Easily within the top 10 Lucha Libre legends in history, and even though there wasn't an 'advertised card', it was a draw alone to see/meet him. I wish there was more of a local indy attendence here, because it just didn't seem like the typical average indy wrestling show. I say that because this wasn't a typical wrestling audience, and more so an exhibition of Lucha Libre where art was set up throughout the gallery, but the 3 matches that were featured just had so much heat. I thought each match was very solid and everyone got to showcase their stuff in front of an appreciative crowd. Seriously, the setup made for a really loud atmosphere....where everyone popped for everything. Usual spots that wouldn't get over with a typical indy wrestling crowd got over huge because it felt like most of these people were seeing wrestling live in front of their eyes for the first time, and that just added something extra to this show. Trish and Lita were class acts...nothing but nice things to say about them. I hope when Wrestlemania 28 ends up coming to Toronto, Trish ends up in the Hall of Fame. She's one of the few women in the business who ended up branching out to something beyond wrestling and made a successful enterprise for herself outside of the business...she doesn't need to $hill herself with poloroids at an indy show, she's doing more then well for herself and it's well deserved. Just a crazy night in Toronto...El Hijo Del Santo, Trish Stratus, Lita, The Kat, and Bushwacker Luke all within 3 blocks from each other...only in Ontario

An article I came across in Spanish, where Santo briefly speaks about his appearance in Canada and possibly bringing his band of lucha legend friends to Canada for a show: Mexico City (ANN)-faithful to its usual continue the name of the Holy high and keep alive the character, El Hijo Del Santo has new horizons to conquer and now looks to South America to try again perform Mexican Colombia wrestling. With your company all on the whole, has performed roles in Europe, Spain, England, France and Ireland, now relies on open market in other countries to show the art of the classic Pankration. "We have planned to go to Colombia, there have many wrestlers friends and this was a country of great wrestling, so all for the whole hope beyond break." I am of the view that where we will always leave a semillita and we have already left behind friendships in several parts. "Just returned from Canada, I was in Toronto the past weekend, beyond I fought in a cultural fair and I have no doubt that we will return with a poster of many wrestlers Mexican, teachers of this sport, responded. Other plans include someday make a function in South Africa, where he was guest become world soccer. "We have not been able to return to Europe because there are also a severe economic crisis, then we must seek other directions. I see more insurance go to Canada, with our cast, people as black Navarro, Black Terry, solar, Super Astro. "They are fighters that really show what this sport, I am surprised that Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, which was the company would be, is given to denigrate the sport." "It is sad to see Negro Casas, of what it was doing of stinky, when Mr owe respect", said. He also added that you missed Los Perros DEL Mal siding with the AAA, but applauded the decision provided that impose its conditions. "If you put conditions what good, is the same as I would do, for example if I called Council, glad I, but under my terms, because it also should call real wrestlers wrestlers as black Navarro, solar, all those teachers who are with me", said. www.pitlane.mx/boxeoylucha/lucha/ahora-enfila-el-hijo-del-santo-rumbo-a-colombia/
